Avoiding metal objects or reflective surfaces near the device
Maintaining the recommended distance behind the ball
Using a softer surface helps absorb radar reflections and improves signal clarity.
Hitting Mat Considerations
When using a hitting mat:
The ball and launch monitor should be on the same height level
Avoid placing the device directly on bare concrete if the ball is elevated
Use a mat with a non-metal base where possible
Uneven height between the ball and device can also affect accuracy.
Outdoor Use
Concrete or paving stones are less likely to cause issues outdoors due to:
Longer ball flight
Fewer surrounding reflective surfaces
However, placing the launch monitor on grass or a mat is still recommended for best performance.
